acknowledge receipt of Colonial Office letter No.53567/38 dated 8th. July, 1938, and to state, for the information of Mr. Secretary MacDonald, that Major S. Jarvis, M.C E.D., has already been in communication with the War Office, and to forward the attached copy of War Office letter P/21565/8 M.S.2 (T.A.) which was sent to him on 23rd. June, 1938.

I am to add that the Council assume that the subject of the pay and allowances referred to by Major Jarvis in his letter, a copy of which was attached to your letter under reference, will be dealt with by the Colonial Office.
